ABOUT US

We, Traidcraft Services India Private Limited (TSIPL), are a mission-based social enterprise that works towards more equitable and fair trade systems.
In a world where equity is not upheld, a section of the eco-system enjoys higher profits while the ones at the grassroots are left without a fair distribution of these profits. We echo the voice of people at the grassroots, to create a people-first world free from socio-economic biases, gender-based discriminations, and are resilient to the negative impacts of climate change.
Our work impacts the collective of producers – farmers, workers, and artisans; often at the periphery yet the most important contributors within the trading system. We provide a focus-driven approach through gender, climate, human rights, and just transition lenses to create fairer terms of trade for people engaged in the Tea, Agriculture, and Garment supply chains.
We bring passion, resources, advisory, and research services; to enable businesses, governments, and producers to come to a level playing ground – while being socially responsible, and sustainable.

Our Story

TSIPL shares its legacy with Transform Trade, an organisation with significant contributions towards development initiatives and global best practices that have helped promote fair trade and responsible business in South Asia. Our work in India was initiated in 1995, linking fair trade producers in the country to international markets in the UK, which later expanded through various long-term development programmes supporting issues of producers, workers, and artisans across different geographies. In India, our work has impacted 150,000 families engaged in agriculture, textiles, and tea sector.
In 2015, we set up ourselves as Traidcraft Services India Private Limited (TSIPL), a mission-oriented for-profit social enterprise to create an impactful and ethical business environment. Our full-fledged operations since 2016-17 have been centered around some of the most complex and labour-intensive value chains of Tea, Textile, Cotton and other Agri commodities.
We are recognised for the unique insights we bring through our research and assignments into the challenges and opportunities in market development, livelihoods, sustainability, gender integration and fair trade in South Asia. We engage with a range of ecosystem actors- small producers, government agencies, public and private companies and foundations to highlight opportunities, assess areas of strengthening and collaboration, represent the voice of the marginalised and support in fostering systems and processes that promote and further fairer trade practices.
