Purpose: Establish a baseline for women’s engagement in cotton supply chains, articulate the empowerment indicators, and help understand the motivational factors for women to participate and gain direct benefits from these supply chains.
Action: Findings from the field research with women cotton farmers helped to incorporate action areas that were important to advance women’s meaningful engagement and empowerment. This helped in better tracking and measurement of empowerment indicators established through the project. A training module was developed to enhance the capacity of the implementation team on gender and empowerment.
